Students were learning about the city and the environment as part of their inquiry unit so I decided to link cityscapes into the mix!
Firstly the students looked at the city skyline and discuss the shapes that were made. We talked about the size, overlapping etc.
Next they folded their page in half length ways and designed a city only in the top half by taking inspiration from our own city and roughly coloured it with textas.
Using a spray bottle cover the top half with water, fold it and then open it back up.
Lastly they used watercolours to add in blue/yellow into the water or sky, or both.
* Tip – I went around spraying the students work as they finished after I had a few students soak their work till it turned to paper mache!
