Anzac Day Art Lessons with Grades 1, 2, 3 and 4

This year marked the 100th anniversary of Anzac Day so I made sure that students in Art were respecting the fallen soldiers through their memories and understanding the events of the time.

Below are images of what each year level completed.

Grade 4 digital artworks focussing on Flanders Fields and perspective through diminishing size.

Grade 2 students created collages using tissue paper for the background and black paper for the silhouettes.

Grade 1 students heard the story of “Simpson and his Donkey” and drew portraits of what they thought the soldier might look like with pastels.

Lastly, the grade 3 students practised cutting and sewing felt and buttons to create these lovely poppies in remembrance of the soldiers.
