Grade 6 clay bowls for Mother’s Day
Students began this project by rolling out a clay slab that would be large enough to cover a balloon. They had some difficulty keeping them steady over the containers but were mostly successful.
Once the bowl had been made, they then added a base. If my lessons were longer I would have also encouraged them to add some sort of pattern.
They were left to dry in a crate and then fired.
The only instructions for painting was “Keep It Simple” and use a limited colour scheme.
